Kundalini Yoga
Increase alertness of mind, vitality of body. Increase tolerance to stress and your ability to relax, while enhancing your creativity and unlocking your human potential. This ancient form of yoga combines active movement and stretching with many specific breathing techniques (pranayama). Facilitating circulation throughout the spinal column, exercise sets (kriyas) are combined with sound vibration (mantras), hand positions (mudras), and body locks (bhundas), in order to enhance their effectiveness. In so doing, they serve to dissolve energy blockages within the energy matrix of the body, creating a natural, meditative, blissful state of mind. This sacred technology had always been taught secretly before it was introduced to this country in 1969 by Yogi Bhajan.
Kundalini exercises tone and strengthen the body, create flexibility in the spine, improve breathing and circulation, and promote a general state of well-being. Particular exercise sets offer support for specific health challenges such as anxiety, nervous tension, sciatica, insomnia, depression, digestive problems, chronic pain and more. One not need be particularly flexible or athletic to enjoy the profound benefits of Kundalini yoga; all that is required is the sincere willingness to try one's best while respecting your comfort levels and physical limitations.
”Kundalini Yoga is a technology of awareness. The human mind is potentially infinite and creative. but in practical reality it is limited. So a technical know-how is required through which one can expand the mind to bring about the equilibrium that enables one to control the physical structure and experience the Infinite Self.
The techniques of Kundalini Yoga form the owner’s manual for human consciousness; it explores your depth, dimensions, nature, and potential as a human being.”
–Yogi Bhajan
